René Nezhoda posted an Instagram video noting that on-screen rivalries did not reflect real life and calling Sheets a hard worker who cared deeply for family. Nezhoda also said Sheets had faced cyberbullying before his death and warned against online harassment.
Lake Havasu City police responded to a report of a deceased individual around 2 a.m. on April 22; the man was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as 67-year-old Darrell Sheets. A&E offered condolences, and fans remembered Sheets — known as "The Gambler" — for his high-risk bidding style on Storage Wars. He retired in 2023 and opened an antique shop in Arizona called Havasu Show Me Your Junk. If you or someone you know needs help, call or text 988 or visit 988lifeline.org.
