How Dzanielle was born

Kargman says the character began in March 2020 when her daughter Sadie comforted a friend upset about being stuck in her Hamptons home. Sadie's perspective—recalling a recent trip to Anne Frank's house and noting the lack of internet there—inspired Kargman to record comedic riffs on the overreaction, and a friend later urged her to post the clips online.
